What is
Chiropractic Care
- Chiropractic care is a method of natural health
care which stresses natural methods of
healing...without drugs or surgery...and which
puts special emphasis on the crucial role that
the spine and the rest of the nervous system
play in the health of the body and all its
organs. Chiropractic treatment concentrates on
unblocking the nerve pathways that are causing
your pain and ill health...and designs a total
program to return you to optimum health.
How Does Chiropractic Work?
- Chiropractic Care works by restoring your body's
inborn ability to be healthy. When under the
proper control of your nervous system, all the
cells, tissues, and organs of your body are
designed to resist disease and ill health. The
chiropractic approach to better health is to
locate and remove interferences (subluxations,
misaligned vertebrae) to your nervous system.
With improved spinal function, there is improved
nervous system function. The goal of the
chiropractor is to remove interference that may
be impairing normal health through specific
chiropractic adjustments, allowing your body to
heal itself. A healthy spine and a healthy
lifestyle are your keys to optimal health!
Will It Help Me?
- Chiropractic care is successful with a very
wide variety of health problems not necessarily
considered "back" problems because of improved
nerve system function. With a normal nerve
supply the body's natural healing capacity can
improve a variety of health problems.
Stages of Care

All
chiropractic care begins with an initial
examination, after which x-rays may be
recommended to determine the seriousness of your
condition. In addition to being adjusted, you
may be given exercises to do, diet suggestions
and ways to improve your posture.

Initial Intensive Care
The first phase of care is referred to as
Relief or Acute Care. This is designed
to eliminate or reduce the majority of the
discomfort and stabilize the condition in
the shortest amount of time. During this
phase of care, visits will be frequent.
Repeated visits will be required to reduce
or eliminate the symptoms.

Rehabilitative Care
Once you have completed Initial Intensive
Care the option of undergoing
Rehabilitative Care will be available to
you. The objective of the second phase of
your treatment program is to correct any
underlying spinal injury as well as
strengthening the muscles, improve spinal
function and provide more complete or
optimum healing of tissues and organ
systems. Visits occur at reducing frequency
and care is supplemented by exercises and
modification of your daily and work habits.
Remember, many of the conditions for which
people seek chiropractic care have developed
over many years and therefore, it takes time
to correct these conditions.

Maintenance / Wellness Care
The third and final option available to you
is Maintenance or Wellness Care. It
is designed to maintain your improved health
and spinal function, and prevent the return
of the original condition once spinal
correction has been attained. Regular
attention catches small problems before they
become serious. Prevention saves time and
money by helping you stay well.
